B.          Grading Procedures.

The instructor will rate each assignment with a number from one up to the number of points it is worth.  The numbers will be added, and the instructor will record the grade that you earned, according to this scale:

     60-69 = D, 70-79 = C, 80-89 = B, 90-100 = A

  XIV.  ATTENDANCE AND TARDINESS POLICIES:

    A.  Attendance

      1.  The university policy reads: "Students are expected to attend class faithfully.  They themselves are solely responsible for the completion of any missed work".  If you miss a class, no matter whether it is an excused or an unexcused absence, contact the instructor within a week to receive materials and readings to make up for what you missed.

2.         To be counted as an excused absence, you must apply to the instructor by phone, email, or in person.  Even if you make up the work, a pattern of frequent absences will lower your grade.

    B.  Class work.

1.          All work is due before class begins on the due date.

2.          Late work will receive a lower grade.  Grade for late work will be lowered by one-third of a letter grade for each day it is late.

     C.  Completion of the Course

      1.  Faculty policy requires completion of all work for a course by the end of the quarter.

      2.  The grade of "I" (In Progress) may be awarded when a student has made appropriate arrangements with the instructor, prior to the end of the semester, which includes obtaining the appropriate form from the Registrar's Office by the student.

  XV.          CLASSROOM ATMOSPHERE:

It is assumed that students have adopted a adult learning attitude.  All will work together to make the classroom a safe place for dialog and disagreement.
